We send termly newsletters to teachers and advisers including details of upcoming outreach programmes, teacher CPD, and opportunities to visit the University. If you would like to be added to this mailing list, please contact the Admissions and Outreach Officer at schoolsliaison@clare.cam.ac.uk.

Visit Days at ÌÇÐÄVlog are our primary form of Key Stage 5 outreach provision. These are multi-school visits, where each school can bring up to twelve students. We can host up to four schools at a time.

Our Visit Days are designed to inform and inspire Year 12s to apply to competitive universities such as Cambridge. Therefore, we encourage teachers to select the students whom they feel will benefit most from the day. We suggest using the following criteria:

• A strong academic record at GCSE, and A Level predictions in line with Cambridge minimum entry requirements (at least A*AA)
• Widening Participation characteristics

Visit Days will typically include the following:

• Information, advice and guidance talks on competitive universities, with a focus on the University of Cambridge
• Student ambassador Q&A
• Tour of the College
• Lunch and refreshments provided by the College
• Applying to Cambridge & writing a Personal Statement workshop
• Subject Taster session

Sessions will be interactive, so Year 12s are encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussion. 

The days begin at 10:45 and finish at 14:45. Full information will be provided upon registration for a Visit Day.

Each year, we visit many schools and colleges in Coventry, Warwickshire, Hackney, and Tower Hamlets to speak to students about university, as part of a schools tour of our link areas. During the November and December 2024-25 schools tours, we spoke to over 1900 young people at 22 schools over 34 talks for Years 7 to 12.

We are also happy to consider invitations to come and speak to your KS3, KS4, and KS5 students at other times of the year, including for careers/higher education fairs, or to arrange a talk via Zoom or Teams.
