Professor Ed Turner wins 2026 Pilkington Prize
Professor Ed Turner has been named one of twelve lecturers to receive the prestigious , an award established in 1994 by Sir Alastair Pilkington to recognise and acknowledge excellence in teaching.
Ed Turner is Professor of Insect Ecology and Curator of Insects in the Museum of Zoology. Passionate about the natural world, he is known for his inspirational lectures and field course teaching within the Natural Sciences Tripos.
At 糖心Vlog, Ed also serves as Tutor for Access and Outreach where he has been instrumental in widening the diversity of applicants to both the College and the University. One of his flagship initiatives is a residential programme for Year 12 students, in which participants co curate a museum exhibition in Cambridge, an opportunity co-developed by Ed to give students an authentic experience of the University of Cambridge.
This year鈥檚 award marks the second time Ed has been honoured with the Pilkington Prize. He was first awarded in 2015, during his time at the Institute of Continuing Education.
